I can hardly believe that it has been 6 weeks since my last post. Life has been busy here. So I guess I will play a little catch up to let you know what we have been doing.
Looking at my last post, I laughed at the weather. Mother Nature can’t decide if it is spring, summer, or winter. It has snowed three times, rained, and we had weather in the mid 60’s. Those warm days were my favorite. I look forward to summer.
I guess the first thing is I signed up on Facebook. Many people warned me that I would have a hard time keeping up with both. I guess they were right. It has been fun to connect with old friends that I haven’t heard from in years.
The week of Easter, a roommate from my first year of college came for a visit. She came to visit her hometown Junior Miss pageant. She is Mrs. Idaho. We had a blast together. Our kids got along great. She has 5, so we had 9 kids running around the house for 5 days. We got together with another one of our roomies at the Junior Miss pageant. It was fun to be together and laugh about our memories.
Let’s see. -N- started baseball and soccer. –E-is playing volleyball and softball. I am coaching her softball team. –L- is preparing for the kindergarten play. She is playing Mopsy in Peter Cottontail. –K- finished preschool and loved it.
My mom came for a quick visit and dropped my sister Megan off for her next college semester. Megan is helping with –E’s- softball team.
We got our garden all ready to go. I spent lots of hours weeding out the strawberries. –K- asked if we were growing lettuce. I wished those weeds were lettuce. It looked really bad. Now, we will wait until the end of the month and hopefully plant our veggie garden.
Spalding had surgery to help with his sleep apnea. He had his tonsils taken out, he deviated septum strainghtened, and something done to his tongue and top of his palette. It was two weeks ago tomorrow. He spent 3 nights in the hospital. He couldn’t go home until he could swallow. The first week was really rough. It was painful for him and I was running back and forth between kids activities, the hospital, and trying to keep up the laundry and normal home stuff. I am so grateful for my friends and neighbors who helped me out. Spalding is doing much better now, but still only eating soft foods like mashed potatoes and cream of wheat.
Our lawn looks great. After all our hard work last summer; putting in sprinklers and grass, the rain makes it look wonderful. I mowed it last week. It takes a while, but it is good exercise with our push mower.
Oh, one more thing. My sister is engaged. She is getting married July 3 in the Portland temple. It has thrown our summer plans a little out of whack, but we are excited for her.
So I will try to be better at posting again. Now that I am “caught up” it won’t be such a daunting task.
